Lazy momma’s pasta
January 11, 2010
This is the laziest pasta & sauce recipe ever. I can hear every Italian ancestor turning in their grave while I type this…I never thought I’d stoop to this level, but alas, here I am.
Can of tomato soup
Handful of veggie purees (carrot/yam/sweet potato/cauliflower) – or a jar of baby food puree
Cooked orzo pasta
Make the pasta, put it in the pot with the soup & veggies, serve up with some dramatic Italian hand gestures and don’t tell a single Italian you know about this faux-sauce recipe. It’s basically the same as homemade alphagetties.

My mom made a version of this when I was growing up – we called it "baked spaghetti". It had hamburger and onions which were fried together and then it was mixed with cooked spaghetti, tomato soup, ketchup and some sort of processed cheddar cheese in a can and then baked – my brother still makes my mom cook it for his birthday!
I love it! That's awesome…such a retro meal, eh?
